Back in the Late Stone Age, when we learned how to farm and build stronger houses and stopped moving from place to place to follow the food, we no longer needed to think so much about bulk and weight to load and carry with us. We started collecting things and improving things. We had time to try new things, and we had BIG ideas. Somewhere along the way, People came to forget and stopped thinking of themselves as a part of nature. Maybe we got a little bit full of our own cleverness and forgot to respect it. Maybe we replaced the songs about the old ways and made new songs about our wonderful achievements and superiority. We valued what made our lives easier and we hurtled into civilization with no instruction manual and no thought about where it would take us.
It seems that we lost something back then and have never looked back. Human existence now faces great challenges ahead. While nobody is suggesting we should abandon technology and live like our ancient ancestors, knowing more about where we came will help us understand how to deal with the issues of the present. Can awareness help us consciously reprogram our value system and our relationship with nature? Absolutely!
We are working hard to tell a huge story.
