Out in the wilds of Myakka City, Florida is a place where modern technology meets prehistory. This is where OTSF aims to step up to bigger action.
STONE AGE MAGAZINE is specifically about how we came to be who we are in the world today. It’s the Big Story presented in the form of a “Saga of Remembering”. With mutual respect and an edge of weirdness, barriers of time and language are suspended as cultural traditions, philosophies and lifestyles from either side of what we call "civilization" are explored in a prehistoric setting. Short illustrated stories and live-action interviews with modern specialists allow us to explore complex concepts. We'll wed science with informed instinct in a format that lets us drift into a fanciful eccentricity that holds a kid’s attention in a world of Hollywood special effects, super-heroes and ever-accelerating high-tech.
OMMI HAFNA is a friendly character from 5,000 years ago, who has somehow found herself hosting visitors from the 21st-century future. She is fascinated by what she has learned so far about us and has plenty more questions. The future can be so confusing! Is a fireman supposed to put out a fire or is his job to make sure it doesn't go out?
What might she ask a circus performer about doing death-defying stunts?
What would a modern architect have to say about megalithic monumental design?
Let's ask an archaeologist what they teach him to do with other people's sacred things.
She will also be showing visitors some startling surprises about the people of the Neolithic Stone Age.
Going beyond the interpretation of a single archaeological site, STONE AGE MAGAZINE presents an epic phenomenon. Assembling the pieces of a multi-disciplinary mosaic, the bigger picture that emerges gently shows us how we came to be who we are. Short illustrated stories convey concepts that resonate loudly today, such as issues of environmental impact and contested territory.
